HON. MAAME SARFOAH APPIAH CUTS SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW EDUCATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE AT SAABO

The Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly has officially handed over a new project site at Saabo for the construction of an integrated educational and sanitation facility. The ceremony was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Maame Sarfoah Appiah, marking the formal start of civil works in the farming community. The project scope comprises: • A 3-unit classroom block complete with an office and store. • A 4-seater water closet (W/C) toilet facility to serve the school and immediate community. • A dedicated mechanized borehole to provide a safe, continuous water supply for sanitation and drinking needs. The MCE was joined at the site handover by key management officials from the Assembly, including technical representatives from the Municipal Works Department and the Central Administration. Members of the local project team and the designated contractor were also present to receive the site layout and review construction timelines. In her brief remarks to the chiefs and elders of Saabo, Hon. Maame Sarfoah Appiah noted that combining classroom infrastructure with essential sanitation and clean water facilities is a core priority for the Assembly. She explained that reliable water and modern washrooms are vital for maintaining student hygiene, keeping young pupils in school, and preventing sanitation-related disruptions to teaching. The Municipal Works Department urged the contractor to maintain strict compliance with engineering specifications, use high-grade building materials, and deliver the structure on schedule. Community leaders in Saabo expressed appreciation to the Assembly management for prioritizing their local basic school and pledged full cooperation with the construction crew to ensure smooth execution.
