To ensure the impactful and transparent use of public resources, the Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, conducted a comprehensive monitoring exercise of Disability Fund beneficiaries. The initiative is part of the Assembly’s core commitment to tracking the progress of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) who have received financial and material support. During the exercise, the monitoring team visited various beneficiaries at their places of business and homes to assess how the resources were being utilized to improve their livelihoods. The team also provided technical guidance and identified specific challenges faced by the beneficiaries in their daily operations. Assembly officials emphasized that regular monitoring is crucial for the sustainability of the fund, ensuring that it translates into genuine self-reliance for recipients.
