HON. MAAME SARFOAH APPIAH BREAKS GROUND FOR MAJOR EDUCATIONAL AND HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

In a significant boost to infrastructure development, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asante Akim South, Hon. Maame Sarfoah Appiah, has led a high-powered technical delegation to break ground for the construction of three major educational and healthcare projects across the municipality. The sod-cutting ceremonies took place directly at the designated project sites in Tanokrom, Tokwai Odumasi, and Dwendwenase, signaling the immediate commencement of civil works. The scope of the newly launched developmental projects includes: • Tanokrom: Construction of a modern 2-unit Kindergarten (KG) block fully equipped with ancillary facilities to improve early childhood education. • Tokwai Odumasi: Construction of a 3-unit classroom block to ease overcrowding and enhance the primary learning environment. • Dwendwenase: Construction of a comprehensive Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, complete with a 2-unit staff accommodation block, a 4-seater water closet (W/C) facility, and a dedicated mechanized borehole to ensure reliable water supply. Joining the Municipal Chief Executive for the site handovers were key management members of the Assembly, including the Municipal Coordinating Director, the Municipal Works Engineer, and the Municipal Planning Officer. The assigned project contractors were also present to formally take over the sites and study the engineering specifications. Addressing the chiefs and residents at the various communities, Hon. Maame Sarfoah Appiah stated that the projects are part of a coordinated effort to decentralize development and bridge the infrastructure gap between rural and urban settlements. The MCE emphasized that education and healthcare remain the twin pillars of her administration's agenda for the municipality. The Municipal Works Engineer charged the contractors to adhere strictly to building regulations, maintain high structural standards, and respect the agreed completion timelines. The community leadership across the three beneficiary settlements expressed deep gratitude to the Assembly management, pledging their full cooperation with the construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
