The Asante Akim South Municipal Health Directorate has distributed free Long-Lasting Insecticide-Treated Nets (LLINs) to thousands of households across the municipality. The exercise, held from June 7th to 11th, 2024, aimed to reduce malaria cases, particularly among children and pregnant women. Health volunteers provided doorstep delivery and educated residents on the consistent use of the nets to ensure maximum protection against the disease.

The Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly held its General Assembly meeting to review progress and plan for future development. Chaired by the Presiding Member, the session involved deep deliberations on infrastructure, finance, and social services. The meeting resulted in the approval of key developmental strategies aimed at improving the livelihoods of residents across the municipality.

The management of Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly conducted a site monitoring visit to the Dampong Market to inspect ongoing construction and ensure it meets required standards. The visit, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), was aimed at strengthening supervision and promoting accountability in public projects execution. The new market is expected to boost local commerce and provide a better trading environment.

As the Nation celebrated its 67th independence anniversary, Asante Akim South Municipality also earmarked this all important day with a commemorative ceremony of their own.
