Residents received tests for conditions like glaucoma and cataracts, with complex cases referred for specialized treatment. The initiative, which targeted hundreds of community members including farmers and students, aimed to reduce the cost of eye care and promote early detection of visual impairments to improve the overall quality of life in the municipality.

The Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly has graduated 232 apprentices under the BizBox programme and provided them with start-up kits. The ceremony, held on October 23, 2024, was attended by key dignitaries and aimed at promoting skills development and reducing youth unemployment. The graduates received equipment in various trades, including dressmaking, hairdressing, electricals, and carpentry, to help them establish their own businesses.
